“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” – Vince Lombardi
This morning reminded me of what such a dedicated team can achieve. I woke up to a text message from our Operations Manager (Jon Gooding), which outlined where he had spent the night… (this might sound somewhat ominous, but I can assure you it’s not!) He actually spent until 02:45 this morning at our head office, solving a time-critical mechanical issue with one of our vehicles which resulted in it being taken to a 24hr Mercedes garage to be fixed, keeping our operations unaffected.
Jon, like many of our head office and training team, works 9-5 with an additional on-call rota. He didn’t have to come in last night and rectify this issue – but he did, which meant we had a happy client.
The same can also be said for our recruitment team, who take calls at midnight from staff in hospitals and on shifts UK Wide. It can also be said for our training team who offer to deliver courses in the evenings or the weekends to fit in with our clients requirements. Our finance team, who stay until 8pm to make sure our payroll is ran and #TeamJigsaw get paid on-time; or our sales team, who books an event on a Friday night, for the following day to ensure their event is able to continue. Not least our 24/7 ambulance crews who work over their allotted shift time to ensure a critically ill baby can be quickly transferred to receive the care they desperately need, or our Doctors, Nurses & Paramedics who go that extra mile to get the job done right.
All of this results in us giving our clients what they want and our patients what they need, providing that second-to-none service we aim to achieve. Many of our clients won’t see what happens behind the scenes at #TeamJigsaw, but I can assure you this group of amazing people never cease to amaze me.
We don’t aim to ‘overwork’ our team, but when working for a fast-growing business such as Jigsaw Medical, having people who go that extra mile really makes us stand out from the crowd!
It’s about the people
When people ask me the secret to the success of Jigsaw Medical so far, I respond unequivocally with “it’s the team, not me”. This is often responded to with a laugh – perhaps they expected me to say something else?
I think it’s safe to say, the above proves that its the people who make the difference.
