Introducing… Jigsaw Records

How the story began…

Back in 2014 whilst working doing the medical cover for an event (in the early days of Jigsaw Medical), a young guy by the name of James Edgar appeared on stage supporting the classic boyband ‘Blue’. I stood and watched for a while and thought to myself – this guy is amazing! I don’t know why, but I even picked up the phone to Sammie and said to her ‘listen to this’. It was him, a guitar and a blindingly obvious talent.

The first thing I did was Google his name, I thought he must be signed to a record label, he must have a big presence online – but he had no website, a bit of social media presence, but that was it. I immediately got in touch with him and offered my help in building him a website and helping with his online presence (no charge, no frills – I just wanted to help the guy). Over the years following, James and I became great friends and I offered my commercial support in what is often a challenging industry to navigate.

James wrote an amazing EP with Danny Wilkin (from the band Rixton), who is a great friend of his and I helped him to release this independently earlier this year – straight away he was picked up by BBC Introducing and not long after featured on national radio as the ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the week’.

Jigsaw Records was born…

For the last 6-10 months, James and I have been discussing where to take his career and how to best navigate a way forward. James is very lucky to be surrounded by lots of very successful musicians and people with a background in various elements of the music industry. On a recent break away in Ibiza – we decided to go for it. We have the huge benefit of the Jigsaw infrastructure, which along with some incredibly talented people behind the label (and of course James!) we are really pleased to see it take shape.

James is currently writing his debut Album with a Canadian Producer and we have some very, very big plans, with some very interesting people involved!
